I’d been planning to pay a visit to my favourite cigar dealer for a while but circumstances, as they often do, conspired against me. But then today the stars aligned: I had a free day, the sun was shining, and temperatures were well above normal. All the excuses I needed for a ride.
And of course the only way to go was the long way.
I’m still playing with my GoPro and haven’t yet figured out how to edit and compress videos, so these are a few stills taken en route.
The fall colours are now starting and should be spectacular in the next week or so. These maples on our driveway are already turning yellow.
Riding through downtown Pakenham, bypassing Scoops Ice Cream this time.
Just a great day in the country!
And my humidor is happy again.
Great pictures with the GoPro!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like running a quick errand and taking a several hour detour.
Ride safe!

Jared - thanks for the comment. Days like that in late September are pretty rare here in Ontario so I was just happy to be able to get out and enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteDear Canajun:
ReplyDeleteNeat roads... Neat little towns... Cool smokes. What brand and ring size do you like?
I'm taking the K75 out tomorrow morning, before the color infusion begins for real.
Neat humidor. I once wrote a book on cigars...
Fondest regards,

Jack - Wouldn't consider myself an aficionado by any means, but I know what I like. Of course we can get Cubans here, so those are my favourites (but pricy). Montechristos or Romeo y Juliettas in Corona or Robusto size. And there's an importer in Toronto - House of Horvath - who have their own house cigars made in Honduras that I like. But there are a host of others that I like as well.

ReplyDeleteHmm, GoProHD. All of my recent videos were recorded with the GoProHD *. I am not an expert, but if you have any questions, fire away . . . I shoot in R2 mode and reduce bitrate to 5-6000. for Youtube uploads. think of bitrate as resolution.

ReplyDeleteBob - Thanks for the offer. I'll be sure to take you up on that as I try to figure out how to best use the GoPro.
