Being camera ready

Sometimes when riding it’s just not possible, or convenient, to pull off to the side of the road to take that great picture. So instead you commit it to memory or worse, fumble in your jacket pocket for your camera while driving highway speeds one-handed in an attempt to grab that once-in-a-lifetime scenic vista.
Well now there’s a handy and inexpensive solution out there to let you mount and keep your still or video camera at the ready while continuing to ride safely.
ram_b149zchuThey’re called RAM mounts and they come with a variety of mounting options and interchangeable accessory holders including 1/4-20 camera mounts, cup holders, GPS holders, etc. The part that is semi-permanently mounted to the motorcycle is relatively small and innocuous, and the attachment mechanism for your camera is quick and easy to use so removing the camera for security reasons or to carry with you is not a problem.
And they are available in chrome!
If you want more info, check out Prairie Geomatics. The folks there will be happy to help you out.
P.S. The banner photo was taken using one of these mounts.

  2. Not yet, but I will this summer as mine just arrived in the mail yesterday.
My brother picked one up last summer and I was very impressed with the quality and general usefulness of the thing. As I said in the post, the banner photo was taken using that mount. Vibration doesn't seem to be a problem and with autofocus, there's really nothing for the rider to do but reach up and push the button.
