It’s done


XL500 And now the hunt for parts can begin. Anyone have a spare 1981 XL500S exhaust system lying about?

  8. nice XL! i bought one of the exact same this summer, and the only pressing part needed is also an exhaust system. did you have any luck finding a source?

    also, did you find a source for a 23" tire replacement for the front?

  9. @Korb - Thanks. For the exhaust I ended up making one out of a tractor muffler and a piece of flex exhaust pipe. It looks and works okay but is a bit loud. I did find a source in the UK for replacement parts but wasn't prepared to spend $400 just for the exhaust system.
